Golden Horizons - Laurie Bowler

About the book:

With Charles, the Eaves coven, and the Gulons working and fighting alongside Nessy to discover the mystery surrounding the strange happenings around them in their quiet village, together they must stand and face the evil force to maintain the balance of their world.
The Gulons bring forth their own heritage and legends changing the direction they’ve been ruling and protecting the humans, bringing Nessy back into their safe harness and their co-existence with the vampire race.

The pressure is on for all involved, the covens are forceful, the Gulons are powerful, Nessy is strong willed and finds herself thrown into the dark world along with the unknown attacked evil force that no one has known to exist, until now

5/5

This is the 3rd part in the series, and as with the others this does not disappoint. The continued great writing and the new and inventive storyline and characters will leave readers wanting more, i know i do. I loved the extra elements that are captured in this book and really look forward to, and hope that there is another book in this series. I loved the way the key characters are evolving, as well as new characters being brought forward, as well as having new responsibilities put on them. I loved Nessys new ways of dealing with everything that always seems to be thrown at her, the way she always manages to do the right thing and come out on top in the end. I love the relationships she is forming as well as the continued personal relationship she has with Charles, especially all the normal relationship problems that they both have to deal with. I must admit i am in love with this series and think that people should look up these books and give them a read.

Sunrise and Sunset - Laurie Bowler

Sunrise and Sunset - Laurie Bowler

About the book:
Nessy awakes from her unconscious state with no memory of who she is or her purpose in life. Charles struggles as he tries to provide her with as much information as he can about herself. Saddened and concerned, he eventually tells her about her former life and true immortal state. Dismayed, a still unconvinced Hera takes Nessy back to the past in the form of the Gulon. There she meets other Gulons who had come to their aid along with the covens that were gathered hoping to glimpse their new queen and ruler of the underworld. Little does Nessy realize she is that person.

5/5

This is the second book in the series, i must say that i loved this one as much as the first. The continuation of the story without faltering between the books is amazing. Laurie has managed to keep up the well written work of her previous book and has added new incites into existing characters, as well as adding new ones. Nessy has to deal with far more problems then ever anticipated, she does this in a remarkable way, but also manages to stay true to herself throughout the book. The previous relationships she has formed, as well as the new relationships forming are well written and well thought out.
Again for people loving paranormal romance i would recommend this series whole heart idly and i will be heading straight over to the next book to find out what else is going to happen in Nessy's world.

I must admit I've had this book for a few weeks now, but I'm so glad I've got around to reading it. The whole story is really great, the writing is excellent and the characters are well written. I loved this book from the word go, i found it entrancing and exhilarating. I loved Nessy and all the struggles she went through, both in her past life and the new life she is finding out about. Ink - S J Davis

About the book:
“It’s a good day to die.”
My mother holds my arm fiercely.
“But as you grieve for me, listen for
the voices.
Then, you must get the ink.”

Sparrow stumbles between two worlds,
light and dark, love and hate, what is real
and what is in her mind.

When her mother dies on the Reservation,
Sparrow’s world is shadowed with anger
and narrowed by pain. The voices arrive,
but are they real? And how can a tattoo
make her stronger?

41/2 /5

I must say from the word go i loved this short story. I found it captivating both in its writing, and in the characters. The story line was good, and the back story for the characters was amazing. This is as far as i am aware an original type of story, with well thought out links to the Native American culture, that i found was well researched and incorporated into the story.
I loved the interaction between " Sparrow " and both her boyfriend and guide. I loved the way personal issues were dealt with in this book, i don't want to give too much away, as i feel that everyone really needs to read this story for themselves to find out how good this book is.
I feel that most people will love this short story and i cant wait to see what is going to happen next to " sparrow " , and find out how she is going to deal with what is to become of her.

A shout out to the author of this short story, as she made it so captivating and enchanting to read.

Incubus - Carol Goodman

Incubus - Carol Goodman

About the book:
In a town built on magic, be careful what you dream....

Ever since moving to Fairwick to take up a teaching post at the local college, Callie has been having vivid, erotic dreams about a man made out of moonlight and shadows. Dreams she begins to fear as well as anticipate.....

She learns that her home - a Victorian cottage at the edge of a wood - supposedly haunted. And then her new - rather strange - colleagues tell her a local legend about an incubus demon with a human past who was enchanted by a fairy queen......

5/5

This is the first book in a new series and i must say i cant wait for the next one. I found that the story really was engrossing i didnt want to put it down until i was finished. Callies back story was very well mapped out, and her current story way enchanting. The book is very well written and the main characters are well established.
Callies begins having dreams as a child after her parents die and she goes to live with her gran. Then moving forward to Callies life now the book deals with her relationship between her family, partner and friends as well as her dealing with the ever increasing erotic dreams that she seems to be getting. She ends up taking a job in a new town, finding that she is drawn to a Victorian cottage on the edge of a wood, the cottage is supposedly haunted. She inherits manuscripts and letters from one of the previous owners of the cottage, who happens to be one of her favorite authors. On starting her job and moving to the town she finds the locals and her colleagues very strange, especially when they tell her of a local legend regarding an incubus demon that has a past in the area, as well as with being a human. She has to deal with finding out new things about her past that affect her both now and will no doubt affect her future, not only in the town but in her personal life as well. Callie has to learn all about her dreams, what they mean and what they really entail as well as some very strange things that seem to happen to her. How will she get through all this and what does it mean to her.

I really loved this book, and found that i didnt want it to end. The erotic scenes are well written and not for the younger reader this is definitely a book for the older reader. In all the book was well written, and the characters believable. I found that i loved the world that surrounded Callie, getting myself lost in it. Carol has done a really good job with this book and i think most people who read it will love it as much as i did. I am eagerly awaiting my next installment from Callie and her world.

4/5

This is the 3rd book in the soul screamers series, and as with the other books i was enthralled by this book and the characters in it.
This book is about the struggles that Kaylee faces when friends and her boyfriend become involved in a highly addictive substance. She faces having to deal with them acting out of character and putting other people in danger with their behavior. Kaylee as always is trying to save everyone from their own choices, but finds that it is not always possible even though one of those is her boyfriend, will she manage to save him by going into the Netherworld or will this be the end of the relationship that they have built together.
This book is well written, drawing the reader into Kaylees world, for better or worse she always trys to do the right thing by her family and friends, although not everything turns out the way she plans it. I love the development of the characters and the world ( both of them ), that Kaylee finds herself in.
I am eagerly awaiting the next installment of this series.

41/2 /5

I loved this book, the second in the Soul Screamers series. I found that the story line followed on well from the first book, and the continuation of the interactions between the main characters was amazing. This book was definitely as compelling to read as the first one, and i again found myself engrossed in Kaylees world, with the wonderful writing and story line that Rachel gives us.
This book continues to cover Kaylee coming to terms with her powers, and dealing with her very different yet very normal teenage life, and all that comes with it. I love the continuing relationship with Kaylee and Nash, especially the will they wont they story that is subtly in the background. Kaylees having to learn that she can not save everyone's soul in this book, although she struggles with that as she wants to be able to save everyone that makes the wrong choice in life. This book also deal with the travelling to the Netherworld, and all the insite and troubles that that entails.
I really enjoyed this book, so as before im heading straight over to the next installment.

41/2 /5

I love Rachel's work and this series is no exception, i came across these books by accident but im so glad i did. This is the first in the soul screamer series, and if this book is anything to go by the rest will be amazing too. I found the book well written, and compelling to read wanting to find out what was going to happen next to Kaylee. In this book Kaylee discovers her true calling by mistake, and way before her family wanted her to do so. It covers her struggling to come to terms with what she is as well as dealing with the normal teenage dramas that go with growing up. How she deals with family, friends and new relationships, as well as reforming relationships with family.I found the characters well represented and well written into the story, they interacted well with one another. I loved the subtle love interest will they wont they story line.In all this book had me hooked and i didn't stop reading it until the whole book was finished. I think that YA and adults alike will enjoy this book. Im heading straight over to read the next installment.
