Sensitive - Derendrea Book review

Sensitive - Derendrea

About the book:
Miya believes that her lover can read her thoughts. Has she just gone crazy? That is possible, seeing as she was kidnapped and taken to a research facility. Miya is enchanted by her captor and gradually she succumbs to his "magic hands".

4/5

My Review:
This short novella is a great read and is well worth looking at. The characters and the story line are well thought out and flow really well. The character development and descriptions were spot on giving the reader everything they need to be able to picture and follow along with the words as they flowed from the pages. I loved Miya as a character and the twist in the story-line leave you captivated and wanting to find out what will happen to her next. Although this is a novella that takes nothing away from the story and what it brings, so if you are a lover of this genre and need a quick lunchtime or time filler read this is the book for you. Can't wait to read more from this author and I will be keeping an eye out for her other works.

Author Biography
Okay, so I'm supposed to tell you about me...
Seriously, if I wrote a book about myself it would take you 10 minutes to read and you would be bored stiff after the first 2! LOL

I'm a full-time writer, wife, and mother. Which basically means there's always a surplus of pencils lost somewhere in my hair, I usually have some place to be(I'm always late), I have a bad habit of calling family and friends random character's names (from my books), I talk to myself because no one else listens to me, and I can throw together a mean dinner for 8 with only 10 minutes notice and four ingredients in the pantry, LOL.

If you can't find me on the sidelines of my sons' football games, online, cooking, cleaning, shopping, at the local coffee joint or on the phone wandering aimlessly throughout my house then I've probably hidden myself in my "bat-cave" to write.

I have a positive attitude, and absolute fun-loving approach to life. That makes it easy for the voices in my head to take over on a regular basis providing endless hours of entertainment for my pleasure, and hopefully yours.

Random facts about me:

~My favorite color is pink
~I have a Bishon Frise puppy named Cullen Edward
~My favorite music is hip-hop
~I have a severe addiction to coffee. So much so, that those in my inner circle refuse to speak to me before caffeine O'clock! True Story

Enjoy the ride.

4.5/5

My Review:
Having received this book for review, and finding after reading the blurb that it had peaked my interest I can say that it is exactly what it says it is. An erotic novella full of action yet manages not to lose the depth of character development and story-line that comes with any good read. A short yet all consuming book that you will not want to put down until you have finished it, leaving nothing out yet giving you everything you need for your imagination to take hold and form the pictures of everything that is happening. This book will leave you panting and wanting more. The characters are well developed and each have their own personalities that follow along throughout the book, the story-line gives the reader a look into a whole other world that the author has managed to create and build, with well defined picture painting. I can recommend this novella to lovers of the erotic fiction genre, and those wanting a quick lunchtime read (Maybe not while you are at work). Go and give this author a try I don't think you will be disappointed and will be wanting to go back for more of this series.

The speculative edge - Monthly magazine review Oct edition

Speculative edge - Issue 3

About the magazine:
This months issue follows a spooky theme packed with short stories, reviews and poems. Prepare to be dragged kicking and screaming into the realms of fantasy and all things beyond the veil

My Review:
This months copy of the speculative edge, has a spooky Halloween theme with many short stories to read, get lost in and enjoy. All with one purpose in mind and that is of course to scare and keep you gripped, and they all manage to do that with great effect. Everyone will definitely find at least one of these stories that will chill them to the bone. Along with the really great poems also with the Halloween theme, and boy did they find some great one's to put in there this month. The book review is informative and interesting, giving the reader everything they will need to know in order to decide if the book is for them without giving away any of the major story-line or plot.
Overall another great issue of the magazine, this is one monthly magazine everyone should seriously consider taking a look at, as it is full of something for everyone. Each issue is different and it is a great way to fill those lunch breaks when you have a small amount of downtime. I thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait to see what they have in store for next months issue.

Reflected in you - Sylvia Day

Reflected in you - Sylvia Day

About the book:
Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. I didn't want to. He was my addiction... my every desire... mine.

My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity. We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession...

5/5

My Review:
So lets start with the fact that i have been sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for this book to be released. Buying it as it was released n kindle, i had to delve straight in there and see what Gideon and Eva had in store for me this time. Well i can say you will not be disappointed at all. Gideon grows and we learn more about his past and what makes him the way he is, yet it doesn't take anything from the man i know everyone fell in love with in the first place it just gives him extra dimensions. Eva, well what can i say she grows so much in this book. She becomes something you never thought she would although with that there is a twist and i will let you all read that for yourself. Lets just say i love her more now than i did in the first book. The story-line continues along that from before with no huge breaks between the books, which is great if you are reading them back to back. The flow of the book is amazing and the writing just captivates and draws you into everything that is happening. With many highs and lows as you go through, it leaves you no time for wanting to put it down and come back later. The background characters do make a big appearance in this book to and they are so well written in, you would never think they were, they have been integrated so well into the book you still feel like you really get to know them and they develop themselves within the background. What else can i say really other than the sex is HAWT, the characters only get hotter and i want to be reading where this all goes and can't wait for the next book to be available. This will again leave you feeling a deep loss for the characters until you can get your next fix. A definite buy for anyone that loved the first book or loves this genre it is a great example and will have you hooked.

5/5

My Review:
Part three in this series and well what can i say, it certainly doesn't disappoint. The characters are all growing and developing and for the first time are all coming together for one cause. So not only do you get who you loved from the first two novella's you are introduced to even more. Jessica a princess features heavily in this book and she struggles with the soul searching she finds that she needs to do. Learning a lot of life lessons along the way as well as not only facing up to known fears, but finding out new ones. All the time trying her best to do what is right for everyone, even though she is a fearless warrior. We are also introduced to the dark price Kel and he is not all that he first appears to be either, with a mix of emotion and courage everything changes when they are both forced to do the one thing they never wanted to do, is he really the dark prince he is made out to be? Hawk makes a larger appearance in this book, and it adds that extra something we get to find out more about his history and why he decided to become an assassin for hire. He is a complex and in depth character that has a lot more to give. The story-line was full on and captivating. The introduction of the dark Fae realm bringing an added twist, with extra depth of the world around everyone. I certainly hope there are more books planned for this series as i can't wait to see how everyone makes it through all the changes and how both of the realms play a part in the lives of all affected. This series has me captivated and wanting to read more, so all credit to the author for bringing that and sharing it with everyone. Love paranormal, vampires and Fae. Check out this series. Although in places there is adult content all it does is serve to enhance the story and the world that the author has created. I will be looking out for more by her and more in this series
