Touch of Power - Maria V Snyder

Touch of Power - Maria V Snyder

About the book :
Laying hands upon the injured and dying, Avry of Kazan absorbs their wounds and diseases into herself. But rather than being honored for her skills, she is hunted. Healers like Avry are accused of spreading the plague that has decimated the Fifteen Realms, leaving the survivors in a state of chaos.
Stressed and tired from hiding, Avry is abducted by a band of rogues who, shockingly, value her gift above the golden bounty offered for her capture. Their leader, an enigmatic captor-protector with powers of his own, is unequivocal in his demands: Avry must heal a plague-stricken prince—leader of a campaign against her people. As they traverse the daunting Nine Mountains, beset by mercenaries and magical dangers, Avry must decide who is worth healing and what is worth dying for. Because the price of peace may well be her life...
5/5
I must admit this is the first of Maria's book's i have read, even though i have been wanting to read some of her work for a long time. At first sight i love the cover and i know I'm a sucker for a good cover artwork. I found Avry to be an in depth, well thought out and well wrote character. She has all the traits that i love with a few that i love to hate. The story line is intriguing and captivating, always leaving you wanting more and to push onto the next chapter. The world surrounding Avery is well written, and believable. The action is well wrote and evenly spaced throughout the book always giving the reader something else to keep them wanting more. I loved all the main characters and the use of magic both for good and evil believable and enticing. I believe that lovers of Maria's books will love this one also, and people that have not read her work, i implore you to go and read this i do not believe you will be disappointed.

  1. I'm so glad you liked "Touch of Power". I've read Maria V Snyder's "Study Series", which is where we first read about Avery and I have Maria V Snyder's "Glass Series" which is based around Avery's sister, which was also in the first "study" book series. I would love to read "Touch of Power" as well, but haven't been able to buy myself a copy yet. I hope I can soon cause I'm like you ... I'm a sucker for a good cover artwork :)
